چکیده

In this paper, a nonlinear switching control method is proposed for a magnetic bearing system which has a strong nonlinearity in the magnetic actuator. The main purpose is to use minimal electrical power to achieve good response. By focusing on the structure of this system, it is found that the rotor part of the system can be stabilized by a virtual magnetic force first, which is given by a linear feedback. Then, the minimal currents necessary for the realization of this magnetic force is determined. As a result, it is discovered that the minimal currents are given by a set of switching rules. After that, the electromagnetic part is stabilized by using either backstepping method or high-gain feedback. The control input obtained is simpler compared with other related approaches, and the response of the rotor can be assigned directly. No bias current is used. Finally, numerical simulations are implemented and the numerical simulations show that this method is extremely effective.

Switching fuzzy modelling and control scheme using T-S fuzzy systems with nonlinear consequent parts

This paper extends the idea of switching T-S fuzzy systems with linear consequent parts to nonlinear ones. Each nonlinear subsystem is exactly represented by a T-S fuzzy system with Lure’ type consequent parts, which allows to model and control wider classes of switching systems and also reduce the computation burden of control synthesis. With the use of a switching fuzzy Lyapunov function, the...

This paper studies theuncertain nonlinear dynamics of a MEMS optical switch addressing electrical, mechanical and optical subsystems. Recently, MEMS optical switch has had significant merits in reliability, control voltage requirements and power consumption. However, an inherent weakness in designing control for such systems is unavailability of switch position information at all times due to t...

Soft Switching MBC Controller for MIMO Linear Hybrid Systems

Switching supervisory is the most important section of a feedback control process inMIMO hybrid systems. By choosing a non-compatible controller, system may go tounstable mode or high overshoot response. In this paper, a new method of switchingfor selecting MBC controllers is discussed. Results of the simulation show the MIMO(2-in 2-out) linear hybrid system can be switched stable and low overs...

Power Optimal Solution of the Magnetic Inverse Problem for Heteropolar Magnetic Bearings

The relationship between current and force in magnetic bearings is typically inverted via bias current linearization. This work considers an alternate inverse strategy based on minimizing the power required to produce a given force while accommodating slew rate limitations of the actuator. Continuation techniques are used to obtain an inverse mapping between forces and currents. Specifically co...

Active Power Filter Design by a Novel Approach of Multi-Objective Optimization

This paper presents an innovative active power filter design method to simultaneously compensate the current harmonics and reactive power of a nonlinear load. The power filter integrates a passive power filter which is a RL low-pass filter placed in series with the load, and an active power filter which comprises an RL in series with an IGBT based voltage source converter. The filter is assumed...
